Getting Your Router Online
Quick Start for RUTX50 / RUT200 / RUT901 / OTD500
Applies to: RUTX50, RUT200, RUT901, OTD500
Teltonika publishes a generic quick start guide for these routers, written for a device straight out of the factory box with no SIM and no settings configured. This does not reflect what a Jola customer receives: Jola routers normally arrive with the SIM already fitted and the core settings already configured. This guide covers what to expect and check on a Jola-supplied device, rather than a factory setup process.
Any Jola-supplied Teltonika device is plug and play with any Jola SIM card, so a SIM can be moved between devices, or a device swapped out, without further configuration being needed.
The router's Overview/status page, showing the System, Internal Modem and Wi-Fi widgets (Teltonika RUT200 documentation).
1. Confirm the SIM provided by Jola is seated correctly (usually SIM slot 1, unless otherwise specified for this order).
2. Connect power, then connect to the device either using a LAN cable to the relevant equipment or a laptop, or over Wi-Fi.
3. If connecting over Wi-Fi rather than by cable, the default Wi-Fi network name and password are also printed on the label on the underside of the device (models with Wi-Fi only.)
4. Allow a minute or two for the device to register on the mobile network. The signal and status LEDs on the front will settle once connected.
5. To check settings or make a change, browse to the device's local address and log in using the login details on the label on the underside of the device. Device details are left at their factory default, so these label details will always be correct.
6. Go to the Status page and confirm there is a live mobile connection before investigating further.
● OTD500: this is the outdoor, weatherproof model (IP55-rated). This guide covers the network and software side only. For physical mounting and cable gland sealing, refer to the printed quick-install leaflet supplied with the device, as incorrect sealing risks water ingress.
● RUT901: this is an industrial modem/router with no local Wi-Fi. First login is over Ethernet only, as there is no wireless network to join.
