SIP Overlay Interoperability of Technicolor Routers
The following guide explains how to enable Jola SIP Overlay on Technicolor routers.
Please note that Jola may provide technical support, however, we are not responsible for the compatibility of routers that are not supplied by us directly. Jola is solely responsible for providing support for the SIP Overlay service and is not responsible for any issues that arise from the use of third-party routers.
Please note that this guide assumes you already have an internet connection and any firewall rules have been completed.
- Please login to your Technicolor router via the IP Address assigned to the router. The default IP Address will be 'http://192.168.1.1’. The IP Address can be located on the rear of the router.
- In the top right corner, you will see the option to sign in. Click on the ‘Sign in’ button.
- In order to sign in use the following details:
Username: engineer
Password: (Access Key located on the rear of the router)
- Once logged in, navigate to the Telephony section. Enable the Telephony service by clicking on the ‘On/Off’ button. When enabled, click on the Telephony ‘Setting’ button to start to configuration of your SIP service.
- First section to configure is the ‘Global’ tab. Please enter ‘3.248.235.162 ‘ for both, primary registrar and the primary proxy. For the registrar port and proxy port put ‘5060’ and set the expire time to 60. Save the changes.
6. Next, go to ‘Phone Numbers’ tab, and follow these steps:
6.1 Enable SIP profile by clicking ‘On/Off’ button.
6.2 Enter the Username (this is the SIP Trunk Username provided by the service provider)
6.3 Enter URI (this is also the SIP Trunk Username provided by service provider)
6.4 Enter password (SIP Trunk password provided by service provider)
6.5 Enter Display name which is your CLI (number needs to include the country code and be provided in the following format , e.g. 441332315891)
Once registered the service light will go green. Call status will also go green once it becomes active.
7. If you have a multi-port ATA and you start to experience any issues with the lines working together, you may want to consider turning off SIP ALG. This can be achieved in the following steps
7.1 Navigate to the NAT Helpers section.
7.2 Disable the ‘On/Off’ button for ‘SIP’, in order to turn off SIP.
