Number Ranges

The Site’s numbers are batched into a ‘Number Range’ which shows the start number, end number and the quantity of numbers in that range.   Alongside each range you can see the status icon which will show as either:

  • Active (Green tick) - the numbers are enabled on the network and calls can be made and received to these numbers.
  • Inactive (Grey dots) - the numbers have not yet been enabled on the network and won't be able to make or receive calls.

When numbers are added, they are typically setup with a status of Inactive which will add the number to the platform but will prevent any form of call routing until a Service Provider order manager activates this at a later date.  This is typically done on the day the numbers ports over, i.e., transfers from the provider who owns the number to your new provider.

Additional information

Serice Provider administrators should be aware of the following when adding numbers ahead of the port with a status of Active:

  • Calls made from the PSTN, Mobile or other to the number to be ported, prior to the port, will be routed via the pre-port route and the existing provider.
  • Calls made from any User on this platform to the number to be ported, prior to the port, will be routed internally via this service to the handset or softphone app created, and not via the existing provider.
  • Calls made from the User with their handset or softphone app will present out the actual ported number.
