EE Voice & Data (V&D) – Key Differences Guide v1.0

Version history

v1.0 – September 2026 – Initial version

1. Fair Use Policy

  • 650GB fair use allowance: EE V&D SIMs carry the same fair use policy as our O2 and Vodafone Unlimited SIMs – a 650GB fair use allowance per month.
  • If a SIM exceeds 650GB twice within a rolling 6-month period, it may be ceased.
  • Correct use: SIMs must be used for a genuine Voice & Data solution – for example in a mobile phone or voice enabled tablet.
  • Usage is monitored, and a SIM that appears to be used incorrectly (for example, as a router or broadband replacement) could be ceased.

2. The EE V&D ICCID

  • EE issue a shortened ICCID for these SIMs – it is missing the usual prefix and check digit, so at 12 characters it is noticeably shorter than most ICCIDs.
  • The end-user’s device will still display the full-length ICCID but only the shortened version is shown on the physical SIM and used in Mobile Manager.
  • This is expected behaviour for EE V&D, not an error – Mobile Manager accepts and searches on the shorter ICCID length.

3. Order Processing & Lead Times

  • EE V&D does not currently have APIs . Every order type – activations, ports, in-life changes, tariff changes and ceases – is processed manually by our Support team.
  • Orders are added to batches which are processed twice on each working day (at 12pm and 4pm). An order placed outside working hours, or after the last batch of the day, will be added to the next working day’s batch.
  • Because of this, EE V&D orders take longer to complete than our other networks. We advise a 48-hour lead-time, but orders will typically complete within 1 working day.

4. Porting a Number

How a port works depends on the PAC code prefix:

  1. BRA or ORG prefix PAC – this allows for an EE to EE migration where the customer keeps their existing SIM and number. This type of migration cannot be placed directly on Mobile Manager – please contact your Account Manager to arrange a Migration, this process has a 5 working day lead-time.
  2. Any other PAC prefix – the number will move across, but the SIM cannot be retained, so a new SIM is required. A temporary number is issued and billed immediately; however, the Porting Number will be displayed on Mobile Manger. The temporary number can be viewed on the order’s Activation Order Details page.
  • Because EE V&D orders are processed manually, the port date is set to 2 working days in the future and cannot currently be chosen. For an accurate Port date please contact Support.
  • The standard EE self-serve porting route (texting “PAC” to 65075) does not work for these SIMs. If a customer needs a PAC for their EE V&D number, please contact Jola Support, a PAC will be provided within 48 hours.

5. Roaming

  • EE V&D SIMs can roam, please refer to the EE V&D Rate Card and Roaming Guide for the country list.
  • A daily charge is applied when roaming in EU, Business and World Zones*. When roaming outside these Zones usage is charged OOB per GB/Minute/SMS – please refer to the EE V&D Rate Card and Roaming Guide for details.
*Up to 25GB per calendar month, Roaming Data usage above 25GB is charged OOB per GB.
  • A Worldwide Cap cannot currently be applied at the point of activation. As an interim safeguard, a bar on roaming outside the EU is applied by default – please contact Jola Support if you need this removed.

6. Bill Limit

  • All EE V&D SIMs have a £500 bill limit set as standard.
  • The custom bill limits that can be set on Mobile Manager do not apply to EE V&D SIMs.

If you have any questions about EE V&D that aren’t covered in this guide, please contact Jola Support.
