Do not disturb (DND) - JolaPhone

How this Feature will help you

Sometimes, you just need to be left alone to concentrate on a particular task. By turning on your Do not disturb (DND) Feature, your Device(s) won’t ring – instead, they’ll go straight to Voicemail. If the Voicemail Feature isn’t available or turned on, the caller will simply hear the engaged tone.

How to set up and use this feature 

If you are using multiple devices, this is the best set-up option as it will change the DND status on all of them.

You can access the DND Feature from several places in the Business Portal.

At the top of your Dashboard, where you can simply toggle it on/off, or access more functionality by clicking the settings icon.


Or click on the Do Not Disturb settings icon on the Features page.


Stop receiving incoming calls on 

To enable/disable, simply tick/untick the box. If you enable it, your Device(s) won’t play an audible ring tone.


Play Ring Reminder

If you tick this box, your Device(s) won’t ring normally, but you’ll hear a very short ring to remind you the Feature is turned on.  


How to set up and use this Feature – on an IP Phone

Unless changed by your Administrator, a DND button will appear on your Device and selecting it will turn the feature on/off. 

Setting the DND Feature on your device won’t update the Business Portal or any other devices you may use, but it will stop this Device from receiving calls. Also, you can only set up a Ring Reminder on the Business Portal, not on your IP Phone.   

Feature access codes can be used to control the feature on a phone, please refer to the Additional Information section in this article. 

How to set up and use this Feature – on an Application

You can turn the DND Feature on and off via some of our Applications. Please check the relevant Application to see if you can. 

Setting the DND Feature on an Application won’t update the Business Portal or any other Application you may use. Also, you can only set up a Ring Reminder on the Business Portal, not on your Application.  

Feature access codes can be used to control the feature on a phone, please refer to the Additional Information section in this article.

Additional information

We recommend turning the Ring Reminder on so you’re always aware DND is set. If you’re not receiving calls and your phone is connected, it’s worth checking your Device(s) and the Business Portal to see if DND is turned on.

If you turn on DND, it supersedes any settings you have made on these Features:

  • Call forwarding always
  • Call forwarding busy
  • Call forwarding no answer
  • Call Forward selective
  • Call Forward rejection
  • Voicemail
Unless your Administrator has changed the feature access codes, dialling *78 from your Device or supported Application will turn ‘on’ DND and dialling *79 will turn it ‘off’.
