You can stop important calls being missed by answering another User’s Device if they’re away from their desk. You can also interrupt another User’s call if you need to tell them something urgent – this can be handy for example if it’s a customer call and they need support.
Please note, Directed Call Pickup With Barge In is only available by using the Feature Access Code and isn’t fully customisable from the Business Portal.
While you can’t manage or use Directed Call Pickup With Barge In on the Business Portal, you can enable a warning tone for when it’s turned ‘on’.
Click on the Directed Call Pickup With Barge In Warning Tone settings icon on the Features page.
Then simply toggle the warning tone ‘on’ or ‘off’.
Using your phone, you can dial the following default feature access codes, unless your administrator has changed them.
Another User’s Device is ringing. To answer it, dial *33 followed by the other User’s extension number.
If another User is talking to a customer, but you need to support them on a call, dial *33 followed by their extension number. If you have the warning tone turned on in the Business Portal, the other User will hear it to make them aware Barge In has occurred. A three-way call will then be established.
If the User you’re trying to barge in on has the ‘Call Barge In Exempt’ Feature enabled, you won’t be able to join their active call.
