Cisco ISR Customer Installation Document


                                                ISR 1111-4p / ISR 1111-8p / ISR 1117-4p



This Document is intended to explain how to connect a Cisco ISR 1111-4p and Cisco ISR 1111-8p router provided by your ISP.

It gives brief and simple guidelines on connecting the router to your network for an Ethernet circuit and/or a DSL line as require.


Checklist – Ethernet
ISR 1111 -4P / -8P
4 Pin Power Cable RJ45 Ethernet Cable.
Green Crossover RJ45 Ethernet Cable
SFP Module and Fibre cable (only if circuit is over 100 mbps)
ISR 1117-4p(Only)
DSL Modem Cable (RJ11 both ends)
DSL Micro Filter

Connecting the router to the network
Below is a picture of the back of the Cisco ISR1111 – 4P and Cisco ISR1111 – 8P. It shows the sockets for connecting the router to the network.

Step 1. Powering Device
Plug the power cable into the router labelled 6 in above picture and power on the device (11).


Step 2. Connecting the WAN

ISR 1111 -4P / -8P
Locate NTE device and depending what cables/equipment is provided, determine if this connect via RJ45 or SFP.
RJ45
Plug green crossover RJ45 Ethernet Cable into the port GE 0/0/0 – RJ45 (8). The other end will plug into the Access/WAN port of the NTE Device that has been installed earlier by Telco as directed by the provisioning engineer.
SFP
Place SFP Module into GE 0/0/0 – RJ45 (7) and connect the fibre cable. The other end will plug into the Access/WAN port of the NTE Device that has been installed earlier by Telco as directed by the provisioning engineer.


ISR 1117 -4P

Connect the supplied ‘DSL Modem RJ11 Cable’ to the ADSL port on the ISR 1117-4p router. Connect the other side of the cable to the DSL Micro Filter and then to the Wall Jack socket.


Step 3. Connecting the LAN
Connect the cable from the customer’s equipment into the LAN port (1). Starting from the far left port Gi0/0/0.

You have now successfully connected the Cisco ISR100 Series to the network.
