Call waiting (User) - JolaPhone

How this Feature will help you

So you can prioritise your calls, Call waiting allows you to answer another incoming call while you’re already on another one.

Please note, this feature is only available on certain IP Phones and Applications and is just turned ‘on’ or ‘off’ through the Business Portal.

How to set up and use this feature –

Click on the Call Waiting settings icon on the Features page.


Then simply toggle the Feature ‘on’ or ‘off’.


How to set up and use this Feature – on an IP Phone

When enabled, if you receive an incoming call while on another one, you'll hear the Call waiting tone.

To answer it, you can hang up on the active call and the waiting call will ring your Device for you to answer. Or, you can place the active caller on hold (how will depend on your Device) and answer the new caller. You can then switch between both callers, once again how you do this will depend on your Device.

If the Feature is disabled and you're already on a call, all other callers will hear a busy tone or they’ll be redirected by any other Features you have activated, such as Call forwarding or Voicemail.

Feature access codes can be used to control the feature on a Device, please refer to the Additional information section in this article.

Additional information

Unless your Administrator has changed the feature access codes, by dialling *43 will turn ‘on’ Call Waiting and #43 turns it ‘off’.  By dialling *53* you can check if the Feature is ‘on’ or ‘off’.  By dialling *70 will cancel Call Waiting for the next call only.
