To avoid missing important calls, this feature allows you to create rules based on certain criteria that will forward incoming calls to another destination if one or more of your rules is matched.
For example, you could create a Time Schedule that forwards calls to your private mobile phone from a key client after work hours. Or you could set up a Holiday Schedule to get no calls on UK Bank Holidays, except from an important customer.
Normal call handling applies if none of your rules are matched.
Click on the Call Forward Selective settings icon on the Features page.
Click ‘Add number’ and input the number you’d like your calls forwarded to if they meet one or more of the rules you’re about to create. Then hit ‘Save’.
You have the option to add a different telephone number later as part of one of your rules.
To enable/disable, simply tick/untick the box. If you enable it, you’ll hear a short ring reminder on your device to let you know the call you are receiving is a forwarded one, as this might affect how you greet the caller.
First click ‘Add rule’ and then type in a name for your rule.
You then have the option to use your default number you want calls forwarded to or you can input a new one just for this rule.
There’s a default ‘Time Schedule’ of ‘All day, every day’. To create more Time Schedules, click ‘Add schedule’. You can find out more about this by reading the ‘Schedule’ Feature article.
To add a ‘Holiday Schedule’, also click ‘Add Schedule’ and use the ‘Schedule’ Feature article if you need more help.
Once you’ve added and selected your Schedules, click ‘Continue’.
You can apply the rule to ‘All phone numbers’ or ‘Selected phone numbers’. If ‘Selected phone numbers’, type the number into the field and click ‘Add another number +’ – up to a maximum of 12.
You can also choose telephone numbers that match a pattern or digit string – such as an area code. To replace the digits at any point in a phone number use a question mark (?), e.g. 01234 ??????.
Select to include calls from ‘Private’ and ‘Unknown’ numbers. Ticking one or both these boxes will result in these calls being forwarded.
Once you’ve finished creating your new rule, simply hit ‘Save’.
After creating your rule, you’ll be redirected to the main page where all your Call forward selective rules will be listed. From here you can toggle a rule ‘on’ or ‘off’, delete it, edit it, and add new rules.
