It allows you to create a central number that your Users can dial to make an outbound call from a Device not on the service, i.e. a home landline or personal mobile phone, but it presents the business number to the call recipient.
This offers a level of privacy by not showing the User’s personal details and charges are billed back to the Company, rather than appearing on the User’s personal bill.
Click on the Call Director Portals settings icon on the Features page.
Click the ‘Add Call Director Portal’ button
Type in a name for your Call Director Portal. Doing this will automatically create an ID which will appear on billing reports, so you can easily see which calls were made from a personal Device using this service.
Type in a Calling Line ID. This is helpful if the User makes a ‘Click-to-Dial’ call from an Application, so when the main Device rings, it will show the User the Call Director name. Once the User picks up the call, it will initiate the outbound call.
Select a number from the drop-down menu if using the Feature externally. This is the number the User calls from their Device if they want to make a call using this Feature. If it’s for internal purposes, choose ‘No number’ and type in the extension number – this is in case Users want to make a call from someone else’s Device on the service.
Click ‘Continue’.
From the drop-down menu, select if the Call Director Portal will be available to just ‘Users on this Site’ or ‘All Users in the Company’.
Click ‘Save’.
After creating your Call Director Portal, you’ll be redirected to the main page where it and any others will be listed. From here you can delete them, toggle them ‘on’ or ‘off’, add new ones, and manage them.
Click the settings icon at the end of the line.
The Portal details and call settings are shown and can be updated by clicking the ‘Manage’ button.
For your Users to make an outbound call through this Feature, you need to supply them with the Call Director Portal number.
